Out from the Airport (Mokulele Loop) you will end up on Ahukini Rd. heading west. Go through the stop light on Ahukini Rd. for approximately 1/2 mi turn left at Kuhio Hwy (aka Kaumualii Hwy - at the stoplight - you’ll
see Kentucky Fried Chicken at the intersection). Continue on Kaumualii Hwy (Kuhio Hwy turns into Kaumaulii Hwy or Hwy 50) heading west for approximately 11.7 mi to the town of Kalaheo.
Detail on the 11.7 miles below:
As you are traveling on Hwy 50 you will pass KuKui Grove shopping center on your left. About a mile on you’ll pass the Kauai Community College on the right. Continuing on for approximately 5 miles you will pass the Koloa/Poipu turn
off. Continue on for another 5 miles (approximately) and you will come to Kalaheo.
Entering Kalaheo you will see Brick Oven Pizza on the right and Kalaheo Coffee Shop on the left. A short distance down the road just past the Chevron station (on the right) you will (just before the stop light) you will see an
intersection that you can only turn right on. There is a T-shirt company on the corner. Turn right and take the next immediate right. You are now on Puuwai road. Continue on Puuwai road for approximately 1.5 miles. Puuwai will turn into
Puulima road but you will not know it. You will come to the top of the ridge and on the right you will see a guard rail. On the guard rail you will see the numbers 5350 on it. Turn right and continue straight on the 300 ft. road. Do Not
turn left off this road! Please use the upper road and park in the designated area. You are here:)
Please be aware that you could put in our address (5350 Puulima Road) and get directions from Google or any of the mapping sites. Their directions do take you a slightly quicker way but it is a lot more confusing.
Please use a lot of caution on any of Kauai’s side streets. Many of our residential roads have just have just enough room for passenger cars. When approaching large trucks, school buses, etc. it is best to pull to one side, stop
and let the oncoming traffic pass before continuing on.
Please take your time. Most all of our roads are 25 to 35 mph and two lanes. So sit back, relax, enjoy the scenery and have a great safe vacation!
